A not so crude travel plaza hits the oil fields

For this travel plaza near the oil shale boom in North Dakota, the clients wanted a blend of style and materials reminiscent of the oil industry and the rugged history of the region.In addition, the short building season and limited availability of materials created design and construction challenges. The solution was to transform a prefabricated metal building into a welcoming Travel Plaza that met all the constraints of time, budget and resources. The 12,200 SF building houses a convenience store, restaurant, driver's facilities and offices.
